Academic Competitions
St. Philip's Episcopal School offers a variety of extracurricular activities for elementary and middle school students, including cheerleading, folklorico dance, and cooking classes.
St. Philip's is a member of the Private Schools Interscholastic Association (PSIA) and 1st-8th grade students compete yearly at the district-level meet. Students who score in the top two for the district earn the right to compete at the state-level meet which occurs at universities throughout Texas each spring. Each year, St. Philip's sends numerous students to the state competition.
Students in 1st through 8th grade compete in the annual Scripps National Spelling Bee. Each class sends two representatives to the school bee and our bee champion represents St. Philip's at the South Texas Regional Spelling Bee held in Corpus Christi each spring.
Students in Kindergarten through 8th grade will compete in the St. Philip's Yearly Science Fair. This year, students will be judged and we will be sending students to the Coastal Bend Regional Science Fair held at Texas A&M Corpus Christi.
